Preparation
Very little preparation is required for a REMS scan – one of its many conveniences. You can eat and drink normally beforehand, though we recommend avoiding a very large meal right before your scan to ensure optimal ultrasound imaging. It’s a good idea to wear loose, comfortable clothing so that your lower back and hip area can be easily accessed for the scan. If you need to, use the restroom beforehand for maximum comfort during the test. Other than that, no special preparation (like fasting or medication changes) is necessary.
STEP 3
The REMS Scan Procedure
When you arrive, our friendly technician will explain the process and help you get comfortable. You will sit or lie down in a relaxed position – there’s no enclosing tunnel or noisy machine.
